In the market, home sales were up slightly (3.3%) compared to July, 2023 while the number of listings was up by over 18%.
The good news is that prices have remained fairly steady (varying less than 1%), which is an indication that even with increased mortgage rates, Toronto homeowners are not desperate to sell. The big banks are predicting that interest rates will continue to go down. The next announcement is expected on September 4th.
